There are four groups in the facilities for children on the Freedom of the Seas. These are:

• Aquanauts – ages 3 to 5
• Explorers – ages 6 to 8
• Voyagers – ages 9 to 12
• Mariners - ages 13 to 17

Each group is supervised by trained counsellors and consists of activities appropriate for each age group. There are special areas of the ship for these programs and three pools for children. Parents can also sit by the side of these pools and watch the children at play if they wish.

There are facilities on this ship for various adventures, such as rock climbing, ice skating and surfing. if you want you can also soak in a cantilevered hot tub suspended 12 feet out from the ship and 112 feet in the air. There is a full size boxing ring and a putting green as well as a full sized sports court where you can play basketball or volleyball.

Engage in shopping in the Royal Promenade, which is the Main Street of the ship. Here you will find clothing stores, jewellery stores, a general store and cafes.

The Skylight Chapel is the perfect setting for a wedding at sea, but the captain cannot perform the ceremony. You will have to bring your own official on the cruise with you if this is your dream of a wedding. You can make reservations to renew your vows on the ship in this venue that can also host the reception for you.

Eight restaurants and a host of bars and lounges on the ship provide for your dining and entertainment needs. There are 284 slot machines and 19 gaming tables in the casino where you can take lessons by day and try your luck at night. If you prefer a less crowded setting, you can also try your luck during the day.

There are a variety of parties and theme nights on the cruise, such as a Masquerade Ball, a Toga party and a pirate theme night. Contests and tournaments take place during the day in which you can choose to be a participant or just watch the fun and games.

There is no need to be concerned about getting sick or needing first aid because there is a fully staffed medical center on the ship.
