The Jewel of the Seas is one of the ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet that does continue the tradition of assigned tables in the main dining room. There are two sittings in the Tides Dining Room for dinner each night at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.in this two level venue with a grand staircase. Soft music plays in the background as you dine on an elegant five-course meal. There are many choices on the menu for starters, the main meal and desserts and there is no need to worry that children in your party won’t like the food because they have their own menu of favourites to choose from. Those watching their calorie consumption and vegetarians can also choose from a different menu of sumptuous delights.

There are two alternative restaurants on the Jewel of the Seas for those times when you want to dine in a smaller and more intimate setting or when you want to have a celebration. Both of these venues, the Chops Grill and Portofino’s, do have a per person charge for dining and require reservations.




In the Chops Grill, you can have steak cooked just the way you like it, specialty cuts of meat or seafood. In Portofino’s, you can dine on Italian cuisine that will transport you to the restaurants of Italy. Choose from fine Italian wines authentic desserts to make this a meal to remember.

The Windjammer Cafe is open just about all the time. The only time it is closed is from 4 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. This casual venue offers all three meals of the day, afternoon tea and midnight snacks. There are numerous food stations serving salads, soups, meats, pasta, burgers, desserts – you name it and you will find it here. The dress code is always casual, but you are required to wear footwear and tank tops are not permitted.

If you are in the mood for a snack in the afternoon or evening and really don’t want to go indoors, the Seaview Cafe is the choice for you. Here you can sit outside and dine on classic sandwiches, bar food and desserts along with having a beer or a drink from the bar.

Coffee lovers will want to head to latte-tudes, which serves Seattle’s Best Coffee along with specialty teas and pastries. If you are in the mood for pizza, you will find exactly what you need at Sorrento’s Pizza where the slices are always fresh from the oven.

And if all these dining choices on the Jewel of the Seas are not enough for you, room service is available 24 hours a day.
