Even though the cabins on the Monarch of the Seas are tastefully decorated, they are quite small by cruise ship standards. The interior cabins measure only 119 square feet, yet they are spacious enough for two guests. With all the activities you can enjoy on this ship, the chances are very great that you won’t be spending a lot of time in your cabin. There are larger accommodations designed for families and while they are fine for families with small children, they can be rather cramped if you have teenagers in your group.

All of the staterooms and suites on the Monarch of the Seas do have amenities at your fingertips. These include closed circuit interactive TV, hair dryer, in-room safe, telephone, radio, tea and coffee making facilities, and a vanity table and chair.

There are several categories of suites to choose from if this is the type of accommodations you want for your cruise. The Royal Suite is the largest suite measuring 670 square feet and has a 145 square foot balcony. There is a separate bedroom with a queen size bed, a walk-in closet and a living room with a bar, entertainment center and refrigerator. The private bathroom has a whirlpool tub.

The Owner’s Suite measures 446 square feet and has a 102 square foot balcony. The bathroom has a regular bathtub and shower. The Family Suite on this ship measures 371 square feet and has a private balcony measuring 155 square feet. This suite consists of two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and another with two twin beds and a Pullman bed. You can also choose a Grand Suite or a Junior Suite, both of which have balconies and two twin beds that can be converted to a queen size bed.

Oceanview staterooms come in two different sizes. You can choose a superior stateroom measuring 157 square feet or one measuring 122 square feet. Some of the superior staterooms in this category have an obstructed view and some of the regular staterooms with an ocean view have a porthole window rather than a large picture window.

Handicapped accommodations are available in all categories and are larger than the standard staterooms. They measure about 269 square feet and have wide doors and showers suited for wheelchair access. There are no steps in the bathrooms.
