Even though the cabins on the Splendour of the Seas are slightly smaller than those of the newer ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet they are quite comfortable and provide you with amenities at your fingertips. All feature closed circuit, interactive TV’s, telephone and radio, a wall safe, mini-bar, hair dryer and vanity area. While the larger suites do have separate bedrooms, all the staterooms have sitting room areas that contain a sofa. There are two twin beds in each one that converts easily to a queen size bed and in some of the staterooms, the sofa pulls out to a double bed to accommodate extra guests in your room.

The Royal Family Suite, which can accommodate up to six guests, measures about 526 square feet and has a 74 square foot balcony. This suite has two bathrooms, one of which has a regular combination shower and bathtub and the other has just a shower. There are no interconnecting staterooms on this ship to accommodate families or larger groups cruising together.

The largest suite is the Royal Suite, measuring over 1000 square feet and with a balcony of 155 square feet. This suite offers the ultimate in luxury with a king size bed in the master bedroom, a whirlpool tub in the bathroom and a baby grand piano, dining table, wet bar and entertainment center in the living room.

Other categories of suites are half the size of the Royal Suite and smaller ranging between 236 square feet to 528 square feet. These accommodations, as well as the Royal Suite, are designed to accommodate up to four guests.

You can choose a stateroom with a balcony or one with a large picture window when you want to have a view of the ocean as you sail along. The balcony staterooms measure 193 square feet and have a 38 square foot balcony. Some of these do have an obstructed view from the balcony.

Standard staterooms with an ocean view measure 154 square feet. While the norm is two guests to each room, some can accommodate as many as four. The main difference between these cabins and the interior staterooms is that those inside the ship do not have a view. There is very little difference in the size. Interior staterooms measure only 6 square feet smaller, but there is a larger difference in the prices of interior and exterior cabins.

Handicapped staterooms are also available on the Splendour of the Seas. These range in size from 251 to 298 square feet in size and have extra-wide doorways. They also feature no-step showers so that a wheelchair can fit right into the shower.
