Almost one-third of the outside cabins on the Rhapsody of the Seas feature balconies that open through floor to ceiling windows. Since this ship entered the fleet in 1997, the cabins are somewhat smaller than those you find on the more recent ship, but you still have plenty of room inside to lounge around. All staterooms have closed circuit interactive TV, radio and telephone, wall safe, hair dryer and vanity desk and chair.
The largest of the accommodations on the ship is the Royal Suite with Balcony. This suite measures 1140 square feet and the balcony is a spacious 131 square feet. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and the living room contains a queen size sleeper sofa. Along with a whirlpool tub in the bathroom, you have an entertainment center, a dining table and a wet bar in the living room. ![]() The other suites on the ship are not quite as large, but are larger than the regular staterooms. The Royal Family suite, at 463 square feet, has enough beds to sleep up to eight guests and has the convenience of two bathrooms, one of which has a tub and the other is shower only. The Owner’s Suite measures 523 square feet, the Grand Suite measures 355 square feet and the Junior Suite measures 241 square feet. All of these can accommodate up to four guests. The balcony staterooms measure 195 square feet and have a 41 square foot balcony. They contain two twin beds that can easily convert to a queen size bed, which is the norm in the remainder of the accommodations on the Rhapsody of the Seas. These cabins have a sitting area with a sleeper sofa, and a private bathroom with a shower. Even though you do have a balcony where you can sit outside, some of these cabins have an obstructed view. The regular oceanview staterooms measure 154 square feet, but the family stateroom in this category is larger at 237 square feet. It can also accommodate up to six guests. Although two guests in a stateroom is the norm, there are some that do have a sleeper sofa to accommodate another one or two guests. The size of the interior staterooms on the Rhapsody of the Seas varies from a large stateroom measuring 174 square feet to medium sized ones measuring 151 square feet and on down to those smaller ones that are 135 square feet. All of the categories have wheelchair accessible accommodations available with very wide doors and no-step showers that can accommodate a wheelchair. |
